Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your NoBacksies account and its associated data at any time, directly from the app.

How to delete your account

  1. Open the NoBacksies app and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

If you have an active challenge in progress, it will continue to follow its existing money rules (refund on success, forfeiture to charity on failure) before your account data is anonymized.

What gets deleted

Your name and email address are removed and cannot be recovered. You will no longer be able to sign in to this account.

What we keep, and why

Challenge history, financial ledger records (stakes, fees, refunds, donations), and check-in photos are retained after deletion, no longer linked to your name or email. This is required to preserve accurate financial and donation records — for example, a charity receipt tied to a forfeited stake stays accurate even after the account behind it is deleted. These records are kept indefinitely as accounting history and are never restored to an active, identifiable account.
